"We recently stayed at The Malthouse for the first time and found the inn to be ideally situated for exploring the surrounding museums and countryside. The Chocolate room was very comfortable, spotless and imaginatively decorated! A great contrast to the usual, rather flowery rooms available at inns. The food was fresh, delicious and competitively priced. So much so we dined there every evening! Compliments to the Chef! The staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient. Friday and Saturday nights are lively so a request for a room on the quiet side of the Bakehouse is a good idea if you want an early night. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Well done to the new owners."

"The Malthouse IS NOT part of an anonymous chain or a business hotel, or 'country house chintz', or a rustic inn. It IS very individual and a little quirky but that's what makes it so attractive."
